Broken Hearts

It was a cool day of December, everyone is happy! It was the happiest month to be enjoyed because of celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ. Everybody is busy at home, they are preparing cakes, fruits and they are busy in fixing their gifts. Some went to their churches to celebrate the birth of our Lord.

At twenty fifth day of December, I was very happy and excited. My friends accepted gifts from their lovable parents and cousins. For me, I didn’t receive any gift even from my boyfriend. But a surprised! My younger sister shouted me” sister! Here is your especial gift, and I suddenly get and run going to my room. Hmm, I thought I will not receive any gift!

When I open, it was a beautiful blue handkerchief! But I felt amazed when I saw an epistle written to a stationary. I don’t want to read but still I opened. What a shocked! My boyfriend saying goodbye!

Dear love,
It’s time for me to say goodbye to find my destination in other country. This gift is for you! When you feel sad use this handkerchief. Someday, if I will return, hope you still love me.

Love,
Migs

No! No! This is not true! He didn’t left me! This is just a bad dream! Migs, where are you? Why did you left me? I don’t want anything but to be with you, why? I cried out loud and I don’t know what to do but to panic.

Now, that he went away, I still keep on thinking on him. Something I can no longer hide. I can’t stop the falling tears that over flow to my cheeks. I still love him! How I wish he will come back…….

WAGWAG(Bargain)

‘WAGWAG” the place is so crowded, it’s usually unpleasant place. People were pestle. Everybody was busy. They are all concentrated doing their job. The “time is gold’ for them. They don’t want to waste their time.

“Bili po kayo!” the old woman loudly shouted.
“Dito po, Mura lang” the thin and old man shouted too. It seems they were all tired doing their job but it doesn’t matter to them.

We now arrived in our destination but before we start our tasks, we observed the busybodies. All of them were tired. And we hardly start our job; we are not fitted to talk to them. We were ashamed and we are finding a sells woman who is trust worthy and not easy to get mad.

In a certain time, I saw a popular old woman who is chatting to a fat woman. We were so ashamed to talk to them but then we need to be daring.

“Manang, tagasaan po kayo?’ we respectfully asked.
What a surprised! That old woman was my auntie who guided me when we were in Mayag, a place where in we celebrated our 8th Grand Re-union last year.

At my first time, I’m so ashamed to shout but I think this is my opportunity to experience the life of being sales woman.

“Sangapulo lang, mura lang po! I loudly shouted with slight nervous. But then, I found myself enjoying my work. It’s enjoyable, most especially when you have lots of costumers. I don’t care if I felt tired. I really enjoyed my work even though it’s very hot. When I look at my back I heard a heated discussion.

“Can you please move your car?” A man angrily shouted.

“Why do you need to hit my car? The man replied too.
I can’t stop to throw a sweetly smile to the driver but I felt worried when I saw the anger in his pale eyes so I turned back and shouted again.

“Mura Lang, pambata” I loudly shouted and I felt the happiness because I experienced how to entertain the costumers. They are all friendly, they know how to communicate and we also thrown simple jokes to each other.

Unexpectedly, our dearest teacher came. She took a shot while we are entertaining the costumers. She smiled at us and she told that we must go on to continue our task.

After one hour, it’s time for us to depart so I selected beautiful clothes. When I give the money to the sales woman, what a surprised! She didn’t get my payment, she told that it’s a gift because we helped her and she told that when we are there, many costumers bought the “wagwag clothes”

I found my self that it’s a pleasure for me to experience that kind of work. If you know how to socialize, you will feel the happiness.

Helping Hands

One tiny nice about Filipinos often taken for granted is the passing of money in a jeep. Imagine sitting at on end of a jeep wanting to pay your fare, with no one wanting to pass it to the driver. Consider waiting at the same end for your change and no one seems to care about it. The pleasant truth how ever is, people do go out of their way to pass along somebody else’s fare or change.

It would be nice if this act was done not as an obligation but as an act of sincere willingness to help, every time I ride on a jeepney going to school or going home I want to sat in the entrance of the jeepney set, cause I don’t want to be passing fare to the driver and I observe that almost people who pass fares get irritated specially if it’s too many passengers. Now, if willingness to help could also happen beyond the jeepney wouldn’t it be nice? If only every one could extend a helping hand in other things as well. Helping does not have to en every where as it does not have to end at the doorway of the jeep. There are many situations where in we can be of assistance. This simple act of helping must be brought out of the jeep and into the every day life of those Filipinos. As with the jeepney, a little those help goes a long way to ease or lighten the burden of someone.

We must not help because we have to; we must help because we want to; cause everything we do, we must have our heart on it. It would not be considered as help if there is no devotion and there is no sincerity, let us practice helping and extending our helping hands.
